CHICAGO (AP) Bombastic businessman Donald Trump won Illinois' Republican primary Tuesday and Democrat Hillary Clinton was locked in a tight race against U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders in her home state during a drama-packed election that included several important down-ticket races. Illinois doesn't typically have a chance to influence the march to the White House, but voters showed their enthusiasm at the opportunity. Republican U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk and Democratic U.S. Rep. Tammy Duckworth each won their respective primaries to set up an important November matchup. Their contests were the most closely watched statewide races besides the presidential primaries.
